Confucius Classroom at the University of Seychelles was signed and established in December 2012, and inaugurated on June 13, 2014. In October 2015, it was upgraded to the Confucius Institute at the University of Seychelles. Since Confucius Institute at the University of Seychelles started Chinese teaching, the cooperation between Chinese and local side has been in good condition and it has developed rapidly. In Seychelles, where there is small population, the influence of Chinese teaching is growing, and the number of Chinese learners has grown from dozens of people every year to about 400 people each year, the distribution of Chinese language students covers government agencies, organizations of tourism and culture, universities, secondary and primary schools, and reaching all sectors of society. Chinese language students include University students, students from academies, scholarship students, those who plan to study in China, Chinese language learners ,etc. Confucius Institute organizes nearly 20 cultural activities every year, local media have reported on the Confucius Institute's "Confucius Institute Day", "Chinese Bridge", "Chinese Day" and other activities many times. Confucius Institute at the University of Seychelles is a Confucius Institute in the Indian Ocean island country that is active in international Chinese education and culture. Its influence is constantly developing and plays an important role in bilater educational cooperation.
