On the morning of April 20, Wei Hongtian, the Chinese Ambassador to Grenada, accompanied by the Resident Director of Confucius Institute Qin Yi, met Dr. Ronald Brunton, the new Principal of T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC), and then visited the Confucius Institute.  

During the meeting with Principal Dr. Brunton, Ambassador Wei introduced the cultural and educational exchanges between China and Grenada in recent years, especially the role of Confucius Institute in Chinese language education, Chinese culture dissemination and vocational/technical education for the local people. He hoped that the College would give stronger support to the development of Confucius Institute in the future. Dr. Brunton fully affirmed the contribution and achievements made by Confucius Institute to the TAMCC and the local society, and expressed his willingness to provide necessary support and help for the development of Confucius Institute. The Principal also spoke highly of the Auto Maintenance Training Program for TAMCC faculty by Ningbo University of Technology, and looked forward to the cooperation between the University and the College in more vocational and technical fields, and even in the articulation of higher education programs.  

After the talk, Ambassador Wei walked into the Confucius Institute and had a discussion with the staff and faculty of the Confucius Institute. He once again affirmed Confucius Institute "Chinese + Vocational and Technical Skills” education approach of development, and hoped that Ningbo University of Technology could give full play to its own characteristics and advantages, and carry out more extensive and in-depth academic exchange and cooperation with TAMCC, uplifting the Confucius Institute towards a new height of development.
