Pre-ob Training for the first overseas volunteers Teachers
On the afternoon of January 10, local time, the first pre-job training course for overseas Chinese volunteer teachers of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast kicked off.
The training lasted for a week, and the content was comprehensive and detailed; covering the rules and regulations of the Confucius Institute and the requirements of epidemic prevention, classroom etiquette for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language, effective classroom management, teaching of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and Chinese characters, classroom teaching activities, games and lesson preparation. Teachers were also trained effective teaching of the first class, the use of Chinese teaching resources, and demonstration classes.
Professor Francis Eric Amuquandoh, Provost of the College of Humanities and Law, University of Cape Coast, and Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey, Registra of the College of Humanities and Law, attended the opening ceremony of the training and delivered speeches. They encouraged the volunteer teachers to take up the work of Chinese teaching and become the ambassadors of building a bridge of friendship between China and Ghana. The Chinese and foreign Directors of the Confucius Institute also put forward expectations of the new teachers . More importantly, they are encouraged them to complete the training with confidence and become qualified overseas Chinese volunteer teachers.
After a week of training, the teachers acquired the neccessary skills to begin their assignment .
