The Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast Successfully Holds Expert Lectures and Series of Activities
On April 22, 2022, local time, the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast held a series of activities including expert lectures and symposiums . Ghana Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations Secretary-General Shen Hanming, Deputy Secretary-General Yan Liquan, leaders of various colleges and departments of the University of Cape Coast, departmental heads, and principals of teaching centers and other guests were invited to attend the lecture.
A total of more than 140 teachers and students from the University of Cape Coast participated in the event, . A wonderful lion dance performance urshered the guests to the venue, and was a curtain raiser for the event. Professor Ou Yamei, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast, delivered an opening speech. The students of the Confucius Institute performed wonderful Chinese songs, cross talk and martial arts . Then, Tang Hong, President of Ghana Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations, Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ghana China Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association gave a special lecture on "How to Be a Successful Entrepreneur". During the lecture, President Tang Hong presented a sumptuous cultural feast to the audience ,combined with his own personal experience. The students were attentive and took notes and asked questions during the interactive segment.
After the lecture, the Chinese and foreign Directors presented confered a visiting professor status and a certificate of appreciation to President Tang Hong, Secretary-General Shen Hanming, and Deputy Secretary-General Yan Liquan.
After the lecture, the guests visited the Confucius Institute; classrooms, library, language laboratory, etc. The guests, directors and staff of the Confucius Institute held a symposium to discuss matters on future cooperation. The Chinese and foreign directors of the Confucius Institute once again expressed their gratitude to the guests who attended the meeting. The guests expressed that they would continue to support the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast in various ways and promote the people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Ghana.
