教授，汉学家、翻译学家。自2013年起担任罗马尼亚布加勒斯特大学孔子学院院长。主要研究方向为汉语言学、中国哲学、翻译研究、现当代中国文化等。

Professor Luminiță-Rodica Bălan, sinologist and translator, has been the Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest since 2013. Her main research fields are Chinese linguistics, Chinese philosophy, translation studies, and modern and contemporary Chinese culture.

白罗米教授是罗马尼亚布加勒斯特大学孔子学院（与中国政法大学共建）的创始院长。在她的带领下，孔子学院在中文教学和文化传播等方面取得瞩目成就，于2017年成功推动中文进入罗马尼亚国民教育体系，助力中文教学在罗的可持续发展。积极推动罗本土中文教材建设，合作主编了罗首部中小学中文教材，翻译并出版多本中罗双语童话故事读物，不断为罗马尼亚民众学习中文铺路搭桥。

2016年获孔子学院“先进个人”称号，2018年荣获“第十二届中华图书特殊贡献奖”，2019年荣获“中国政府友谊奖”和“文明之光·2018中国文化交流年度人物”称号。布加勒斯特大学孔子学院2017年荣获“先进孔子学院”称号。

Professor Luminiță-Rodica Bălan is the founding director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (co-hosted by China University of Political Science and Law). Under her leadership, the Confucius Institute has made remarkable achievements in Chinese teaching and cultural promotion. In the year of 2017, she successfully promoted Chinese into the Romanian national education system, thereby facilitating the sustainable development of Chinese language education in the country. She has co-edited the first Chinese textbook for primary and secondary schools in Romania and translated numerous Chinese-Romanian bilingual fairy tale books, which continuously paves the way for Romanian citizens to learn Chinese.

She was honored with the Confucius Institute Individual Performance Excellence Award of the Year in 2016 and the 12th Special Book Award of China in 2018. She received the Chinese Government Friendship Award and won the title of Light of Civilization - Cultural Communication Contributor of the Year 2019. The Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest was recognized as Confucius Institute of the Year in 2017.
