中国国际中文教育基金会孔子学院全球发展高级顾问，新西兰惠灵顿维多利亚大学孔子学院理事、顾问委员会成员、2011至2021年任理事长，新西兰中文周信托基金会副主席。2014至2020年任原孔子学院总部高级顾问。曾任新西兰驻华大使、新西兰当代中国研究中心主席、新西兰 -中国关系促进委员会执行委员会成员等职。

Mr. Tony Browne, Senior Consultant on Confucius Institute Global Development of the Chinese International Education Foundation, is a member of the Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington, where he chaired from 2011 to 2021. He is also the Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Chinese Language Week Trust. From 2014 to 2020, he was a Senior Consultant to the former Confucius Institute Headquarters. He served as New Zealand Ambassador to China, Executive Chair of the New Zealand Contemporary China Research Centre, and a member of the NZ China Council Executive Board.

包逸之与中国结缘多年。作为新西兰惠灵顿维多利亚大学孔子学院理事长，他制定的战略规划为孔子学院的发展奠定了坚实基础，担任理事长十年间，与新中两国相关机构保持密切协作，不断推动新西兰中文学习和中国文化研究，致力于打造一个了解中国历史、语言和文化的社区。为推进孔子学院“汉语助教”项目，他亲自前往中国各高校招募候选人，惠及150多所参与该项目的新西兰学校。作为基金会孔子学院全球发展高级顾问，他以其在外交、人文交流等领域的丰富经验，为孔子学院发展、民间化运行建言献策，弥足珍贵。

2014年获孔子学院“先进个人”称号。惠灵顿维多利亚大学孔子学院分别于2015年、2019年荣获“先进孔子学院”称号。

Mr. Tony Browne has a long-standing friendship with China. As the Board Chair of the Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington, he has formulated guiding principles that lay a solid foundation for the development of the Confucius Institute. During his ten years as the Board Chair, he has maintained close collaboration with relevant institutions in both New Zealand and China and further promoted the study of the Chinese language and research on Chinese culture, being committed to building a community that understands Chinese history, language, and culture. To advance the Mandarin Language Assistant program, he personally visited various universities in China to recruit candidates, benefiting over 150 New Zealand schools involved in the program. As the Senior Consultant on Confucius Institute Global Development, he has provided invaluable insights for the development and non-governmental operation of the Confucius Institute with his rich experience in diplomacy and cultural exchanges. 

In 2014, he won the Confucius Institute Individual Performance Excellence Award. The Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington was recognized as Confucius Institute of the Year in both 2015 and 2019.
