Bringing together talented students from across New South Wales, the Chinese Language Spectacular has established itself as one of the most prominent Chinese language and culture events of the year.
2014 Sydney Chinese Language Spectacular
In 2014, the Confucius Institute at UNSW Australia and the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of NSW jointly produced the inaugural Chinese Language Spectacular at Sydney Town Hall to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Confucius Institute worldwide. More than 400 students from over 30 schools showcased their talents and Chinese language skills to an audience of more than 1000 spectators. Acts included poetry recitals, storytelling, rapping, choirs, musical ensembles and folk dance.
2015 Sydney Chinese Language Spectacular
The official theme of the 2015 Chinese Language Spectacular was “Ancient Chinese Poem Songs”, with more than 700 students from various schools in New South Wales performing songs by famous composer Gu Jianfen, and over 20 other acts featuring song, dance, martial arts and comedy. The 2015 Spectacular was considerably larger in scale than the previous year and widely expanded its engagement with the Sydney community.
