On July 8, 2022, the opening ceremony of the 4th Police Chinese Martial Arts Training Course was held at Nelson Mandela Bay Chinese Police and Citizens Cooperation Center in South Africa.

Due to the epidemic and other reasons, this inauguration ceremony was conducted in a combination of online and offline. The opening ceremony was attended by Consul General Lin Jing of the Chinese Consulate General in Cape Town (online), Counsellor Yu Yuan of the Police Section of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa (online), Executive Mayor Eugene Johnson of Nelson Mandela Bay, Deputy Mayor Buyelwa Mafaya, Director Chen Dunci, Secretary General Xiao Pengfei, Supervisor Yan Shukai, Executive Director Zhang Jie, Executive Director Chen Wu, Deputy Director Wei Chengjin, Deputy Director Liu Ming, President Liu De College of Confucius Institute at Rhodes University, Principal Wu Changhong of the Chinese International School of Cape Town, South Africa (on line), Deputy Director General Brigadier General Ronald Koll of the Nelson Mandela Bay City Directorate, South African BAIC representative Zuo Xishun, FAIC representative Peng Lei, student parent representatives Wu Qin and Zheng Wang, Nelson Mandela Bay City Transport Director Warren Prins. Gelvandale, Police Chief Brigadier Lawrence Soekoe, Kabega Police Colonel Tony Nomdoe, Municipal Police Colonel Siyabulela Goboza and Municipal Police Colonel Raquel Paulsen.

First of all, Director Chen Dunci gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Director Chen expressed his warm welcome to all of you to attend this opening ceremony and also appreciated the support of all parties to the police Chinese martial arts training. We hope that you will continue to work hard and let's do a good job of the new Chinese language training for the Chinese people in South Africa, and also add to the friendship and development of China and South Africa.

Next, Eugene Johnsan, Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, gave a speech, praising the contribution of the Police Community Center and the Chinese community to the local community and the changes brought about by the local economic development. Eugene Johnsan expressed his pleasure to witness the fourth training course of Chinese martial arts for police officers, which will become a witness of the friendship between China and South Korea.

Consul General Lin Jing then delivered a speech, expressing his agreement with Eugene Johnsan's view. South China is like a big family, and the mayor is like a parent in this big family taking care of the children of Nelson Mandela Bay City. Consul General Lin Jing hoped that the Chinese martial arts training course organized by the Police Community Center would go smoothly in the future with the support of the Mayor and other parties, the Chinese community could serve the local community better, and that the cooperation between the two countries would continue to enhance the emotions of the two peoples.

Finally, the police counsellor gave full recognition to the work of the police center and thanked the local police department and the city government for their support and assistance to the police center and the Chinese community, especially in the fight against crime and comprehensive management of social security, from which our overseas compatriots have benefited. Police Counsellor Yu Yuan mentioned that due to the epidemic many interactions and activities have been affected to a certain extent. Under the current situation that the epidemic is gradually improving, we hope to have better joint cooperation and interaction with various police departments in South Africa, and we hope that we can work together to protect and contribute to the personal safety and economic development of the people of China and South Africa.

The opening ceremony of the fourth Chinese police martial arts training course was successfully concluded in the presence of Consul General Lin Jing, Police Counsellor Yu Yuan, Mayor Eugene Johnson, Deputy Mayor Buyelwa Mafaya, Director Chen Dunci and Brigadier General Roland Koll.
