The Confucius Institute at Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) is a collaborative initiative between Yanshan University and BIUST, which was Officially approved in March 2023. In August 2024, the Confucius Institute commenced full operations. Leveraging the academic strengths of both universities, the Confucius Institute adopts a "Chinese + Vocational Skills" training model to cultivate innovative and interdisciplinary talents. It serves as a talent pipeline for Botswana and Chinese enterprises, while strengthening the educational cooperation, economic ties, and cultural exchange between China and Botswana. Additionally, the Confucius Institute contributes to vocational education development, the promotion of global cultural diversity, and the building of a China-Africa community with a shared future.
