The agreement of establishing the Confucius Institute was signed on March 7, 2008, and the opening ceremony was held on February 25, 2009. The partner institutions are Dalian University of Foreign Languages and Brusov State University. Brusov State University was established on February 4, 1935, and its predecessor was a two-year teacher training institution in Russia. Today, with a current staff team of around 500 in total, it has trained more than 50,000 graduates majoring in Russian, English, French, German, Spanish, practical psychology, history, and political science. The university is highly desired and respected by the young generation in the local community.

Distinctive and Key Programs

The "China Studies" International Seminar

It aims to promote the level of education, scientific research cooperation and exchanges of the Confucius Institute in Armenia, and enhance the brand awareness of the Confucius Institute. The first seminar was successfully held on October 29, 2021.
Trial lectures and training for new Chinese teachers

It aims to improve the teaching level of new Chinese teachers and Armenian local Chinese teachers, so that they will be able to undertake teaching. It has been held 8 times in a row until 2021.
The series of lectures on the training of Armenian local Chinese teachers

Till 2021, the activity has been successfully held for 8 sessions. Before the training, the lecturers conducted in-depth research on local teachers and students.
Local Chinese Teacher Training Digital Three-dimensional Series

The purpose of this textbook is to further improve the teaching skills and professional knowledge of Armenian local Chinese teachers.
World Language and Culture Week - Confucius Institute Open Day

The event aims to attract more Armenian children to understand the languages and cultures of different countries, help them choose their own future, and further enhance the influence of Chinese language and Chinese culture in Armenia as well.
