On October 24, 2025, the Confucius Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology at National University of Lesotho (NUL), together with the Faculty of Agriculture, jointly organized a career guidance event under the theme From Classroom Learning to Career Goals, Skills, and Opportunities. The event aimed to help students clarify their career directions, enhance their overall competencies, and broaden their employment perspectives.

The event was held in a warm and engaging atmosphere, attended by representatives of the Faculty of Agriculture, business guests, and both Chinese and local teachers from the Confucius Institute.

Dr. Meng Fanxing, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, delivered a speech emphasizing the crucial role of language in career development. He pointed out that language is not only a tool for communication but also an important bridge that connects the world and fosters cooperation. With the deepening collaboration between China and Lesotho in fields such as agriculture and education, mastering Chinese will create more learning and employment opportunities for Lesotho’s youth.

Dr. Meng stated that the Confucius Institute will continue to leverage its platform to provide more language training and cultural exchange opportunities, helping students enhance their international competitiveness. He also encouraged students to actively learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture, thereby strengthening their foundation for future career development.

The event not only helped students better understand the close connection between language proficiency and career development but also showcased the important role of the Confucius Institute in supporting local education, promoting youth employment, and facilitating cultural exchange between China and Lesotho. The Confucius Institute will continue to collaborate with various faculties at NUL to advance educational cooperation and talent cultivation.
