Mahidol University Attends the "2024 World Chinese Language Conference" in Beijing, China

From November 15 to 17, 2024, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Sithiwat Lertsiri, Vice President of Mahidol University, and Associate Professor Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnership and University Council, participated in the international conference "The 2024 World Chinese Language Conference" in Beijing, China. Representatives from the Faculty of Liberal Arts included Assistant Professor Dr. Aphiwit Liang-Itsara, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Assistant Professor Dr. Paisan Sukjairungwattana, Chair of the Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language (International Program), and Director of the Mahidol University Confucius Institute (Thai side), as well as Prof. Dr. Lin Yan, Director of the Confucius Institute (Chinese side), Mr. Sayam Spanuchata, International Relations Officer, and Mr. Chanaroj Teantanawat.

The conference, themed "Interconnection, Integration, Inheritance, Innovation," was organized by the Chinese Ministry of Education to promote the development of Chinese language education, strengthen cultural cooperation, and expand academic collaboration networks. Over 2,000 experts, scholars, and representatives from educational institutions in 160 countries participated in the event, held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.

In addition to attending the conference, Mahidol University's delegation visited Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), where they were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Huang Yifang, Vice President of BLCU, and Dr. Su Wenjun, Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute Office at BLCU. Discussions focused on the operations of the Mahidol University Confucius Institute and explored future academic collaboration opportunities.

As the newest Confucius Institute established through a collaboration between Beijing Language and Culture University and Mahidol University, the institute is committed to promoting Chinese language and cultural education, facilitating mutual learning, and fostering strong academic and cultural ties between the two nations.
