On February 10, the Confucius Institute of Ateneo de Davao University and the JOJI ILAGAN International School Group of the Philippines signed an educational cooperation agreement online. The signing ceremony was attended by Chinese Deputy Consul General Liu Qian, Consul General's wife Qiu Aiping, Vice President of Huaqiao University (HQU) Zeng Lu, JOJI ILAGAN International Schools President Joji Ilagan Bian, Vice President NIKOLE HAO BIAN as well as representatives from the Chinese Education Office of HQU and executives of JIB International Schools.

Liu Qian stated in her speech that the Beijing Winter Olympic Games set a promising tone for 2022. Not only the sports world but also various industries are gradually overcoming the impact of the pandemic and beginning to recover, as demonstrated by the collaboration between the Confucius Institute of Ateneo de Davao University and JOJI ILAGAN International Schools. She emphasized that China and the Philippines enjoy a stable and friendly relationship, and the partnership between the two schools will provide more learning and development opportunities for Filipino students, bringing benefits to the local community.

Zeng Lu expressed his special thanks to the Chinese Consulate General in Davao for its support to the cause of international Chinese language education. He stated that following the successful completion of the first phase of the Chinese language training program for officials of the Davao City government , the collaboration between the two schools will open a window into language and culture for more Filipino government officials and young students, fostering greater interaction and mutual understanding between different cultures and languages.

Ms. Joji Ilagan Bian stated that the influence of the Chinese language in international exchanges across fields such as economy, education, and tourism is steadily increasing. Introducing Chinese language courses for international school students will create more opportunities and possibilities for their future development.

Zhang Shenglin, the Chinese Director of Ateneo de Davao Confucius Institute, and Ms. Joji Ilagan Bian, the President of JOJI ILAGAN International Schools, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.
